Kurt Broadhag - Head Designer

Personal fitness and nutritional advisor to many of today’s stars, avid cyclist, writer, academic and entrepreneur with a flair for fitness, Kurt Broadhag does more than soft pedal his way with a long list of top name celebrities and executives.

This Californian native first became interested in fitness and nutrition during his high school years when he was an avid cyclist, eventually training as a Junior Cyclist at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, New York. It was here that Kurt developed a lifelong interest in sports medicine, exercise physiology and nutrition.

At age 24, Kurt was creating and developing two adjoining gyms on the Paramount Studios lot. There, he supervised the training of music, TV and film stars as well as 13 out of 17 Paramount Studio divisional presidents. During this time, Kurt also graduated with a Masters in Sports Medicine at California State University, Long Beach and obtained a number of professional certifications, including Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS form the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), Certified Massage Therapist (CMT), Advanced First Aid Certification and CPR/First Aid/AED Instructor Certification, and T.O.U.C.H Training Certification.

Four years later, Kurt began Feature Fitness – full-size gyms housed in mobile trailers for celebrity use during on-location movie shoots. Kurt also began Bfit Training, personally training a number of business and entertainment executives. During this time Kurt was hired as the National Spokesperson for Powerbar and was sent out on publicity tours in radio, TV, and magazines promoting the Powerbar line. Kurt still works closely with Powerbar in sponsoring and training his celebrity clientele for triathlons and adventure racing.

Kurt’s true passion for gym design began in 1998 when he developed a design platform to be used with fitness center layouts. He continued to use and update the system while working as the designer for Advantage Fitness Products, an international equipment distributor where he designed countless fitness centers. During this time he also helped establish Fitness Design Group, a consulting business which takes an “interior design” approach to the layout and functionality of equipment for commercial, corporate, private and in-home gyms. Kurt moved on to launch his own design and consulting company, K Allan Consulting specializing in all aspects of gym design and program implementation. To further seperate his company apart from other firms Kurt went on to obtain LEED AP certification allowing him to blend his knowledge in green design with the fitness industry. He has written a number of articles on gym design and has authored a manual on fitness facility design, equipment operation, and equipment maintenance.

Kurt currently divides his time among his different businesses, personal training, competitive cycling and research in exercise physiology and nutrition. Kurt resides in Los Angeles with his family.
